Obviously Sam and I are a little out of the age range for totally getting this blog thing! However with a little perseverance and trust in God and the help of our brilliant children, anything can happen! It helps to have the motivation of wanting to stay in contact with family and friends while we are serving our mission.
We submitted our papers to the bishop yesterday! We hope to see the stake president next Tuesday. I understand calls for seniors take a little longer--perhaps as much as 6 weeks, so we will be working on patience for the next few weeks.
As many of you know, we have been asked to serve in Munich, with me as the mission nurse. Sam and I will also have a proselyting responsibility with the servicemen, probably in Garmish. Of course all of this can change when that apostle comes into the room to make decisions about where missionaries serve.
My colleague relayed a story of a couple who had asked to not go to a cold climate because of health reasons. However, their call came that they were to go to Michigan. They turned it down. The next time the call came, they were again to go to Michigan. They turned it down again. Finally, the third time they were told they would go to Michigan, they decided they should follow the apostle's decision. While on their mission they came into contact with a long lost son.
While we have no long lost son to find, we know that the Lord knows where we are most needed and we are anxious to fill whatever need seems appropriate when that decision is made.
We are so grateful for our amazing family that is so supportive!
